What is Cyclohexane?

Cyclohexane is a chemical that occurs naturally in crude oil and is extracted during the refining process. It is also manufactured from benzene and hydrogen. It is used in many ways ^_ in the manufacture of nylon, and as a solvent for oils, fats, waxes, rubber, paints and varnishes.

Manufacturing Information

Cyclohexane is processed at Sunoco's Marcus Hook, PA refinery and is transported by railcar and tank trucks. It is obtained from the distillation of petroleum or by hydrogenenation of benzene.
